1. Who we are
BudgetPlanner ("we", "us", "our") operates getbudgetplanner.co. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it. Contact: privacy@getbudgetplanner.co.
2. Data we collect
- Budget inputs you enter in the planner (income, expenses, goals). Stored only if you create an account.
- Account data (email, hashed password, or OAuth identifier from Google) when you sign up.
- Payment data processed by Stripe if you upgrade to Pro. We never see your card details.
- Usage data such as pages visited, device type, approximate location (from IP), and referrer, collected via cookies and analytics.
3. How we use your data
- Provide, maintain and improve the service.
- Generate personalised budgets via AI. Inputs are sent to our AI providers under strict data-processing terms.
- Send transactional email (receipts, password resets).
- Measure aggregated site performance and prevent abuse.
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process data under: (a) contract, to deliver the service you requested; (b) consent, for non-essential cookies and marketing; (c) legitimate interest, for security and product analytics; (d) legal obligation, for tax records.
5. Cookies and third-party services
We use cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy. Third-party processors include:
- Google — Sign-in, Search Console, Analytics (aggregated).
- Bing — Webmaster Tools (aggregated).
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Supabase / Cloudflare — hosting and database.
If we display ads via Google AdSense or Microsoft Advertising in the future, those partners may set cookies to serve personalised ads. You will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set, in line with Google's EU user consent policy and Microsoft's advertising policies.
6. Data retention
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Budget entries are deleted when you delete them or your account. Anonymous analytics is kept up to 26 months.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time from your account page, or by emailing privacy@getbudgetplanner.co. EU/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA including the right to know, delete and opt out of "sale" of personal information — we do not sell personal information.
8. Children
BudgetPlanner is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. International transfers
Data may be processed in the EU and the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses.
